The Journal of Self Leadership (ISSN# 1545-2700) was
the official peer-reviewed professional publication of
the Internal Family Systems Association (IFSA), whose
mission was to support the advancement of the
Internal Family System (IFS) model developed by
Richard C. Schwartz, Ph.D.
The Journal of Self Leadership was co-sponsored by
the Internal Family Systems Association (IFSA) and
Central Connecticut State University. Funding for the
journal production was generously provided by an
AAUP/CSU Faculty Research Grant at Central
Connecticut State University.
The purpose of the journal was to promote and
encourage scholarly and scientific writing on IFS and
the principles of Self Leadership. Articles which
detailed the model’s utility and effectiveness for a
variety of presenting problems, populations, and
applications in both clinical and non-clinical arenas
were also welcomed.
When the Center for Self Leadership (now the IFS
Institute) was created to promote and advance the
model, the IFSA closed its operations and the Journal
of Self Leadership came to an end.
